Many thanks John for a fascinating piece of work. It looks a great way to play simple but enjoyable ancient games.

So are we going to give it a trial on 1st April, Mike?

Sounds good to me, John. I will probably bring some Alexandrian Macedonians.

Game on. Please remember you do not have to follow my thoughts on troop types. None too sure what I  fancy bringing to the table atm. Keep eyeing up Huns...

John,

Had a read and with my EIR army I could field a force. I have the rules as a pdf so will have a read of them.

Like you I have always wanted to scratch that ancients itch & now I have a really nicely painted army that is suited to several sets of rules, I can have a crack with these rules.

So would have a game with you whenever.

Nige, glad to see your interest has been aroused. I'm  more than  happy to cross swords, but I'm  not free until last Sun April.
Mike & I  will be trying a game on 1 April,  if you are free.

How about trying Ken?

I've amended the document to cater for a dozen forces. Links as above.

I’ve been digging out the various ancient figures I have and thinking about how they would fit in to DRAW – Dragon Rampant in the Ancient World. I’ve therefore updated the master document, where can now be found a score of forces to whet your appetite. I’ll probably focus on using the rules, unless any further forces appear, by magic of course.

The master document can be located here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tNcSmOOlSlqHPIBTHyIu_BpRPEjBuJnD

Enjoy.

Thanks John. The lists are really useful.

I am working out my Alexandrian Macedonian force for our game tomorrow and I'm trying to understand the 6 point cost of the Companions as without any extras Heavy Riders cost 4 points but if you add the suggested Man Slayer that would cost another 4 points. Should they be listed as Elite Riders which cost 6 points and Level Headed would add another 2 points?

Obviously you can design them as you wish. In my possible build I was thinking elite riders + level headed @ 8 and 1 x skirmiishers @ 2. I'll  tweak the document later. Good spot. See you later.

Due to wet weather, I've had time to think more on DRAW. I therefore added some further thoughts on regular troop formations, pikes & "magic" to the document.
I've also "given" the Ancient British Hunting Dogs & Seleucids Scythed Chariots.
A new version of the document is available https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tNcSmOOlSlqHPIBTHyIu_BpRPEjBuJnD

Also remembered my 10mm Byzantines & located unopened boxes of 20mm (Han?) Chinese. Sad but true. Sigh!

Nice work John. Despite myself I was having a look at the document and thinking of whipping out my Normans for a game - you've tempted me.

I'd glady step up, but I'm occupied the next couple of Sundays. So unless someone else wants to face your chaps, how would 6th May suit?
