Well Friday was a bit of a red-letter day, not only was it 6 months ‘till Christmas, but I ordered some figures for the first time in years.
Having completed the Irregular Miniatures Austrian infantry that I mysteriously discovered – probably a ‘good idea’ purchase from over a decade ago, I spent a week or so gazing at the cavalry & artillery I had, but remained uninspired to put a brush to them; so, I put together an order for Baccus figures. In addition to cavalry and artillery I ordered Grenadiers to provide some backbone for the army - a Corps of Veteran Infantry.
I’m figuring that although there will undoubtedly a size issue between Baccus and Irregular the different arms should hide these. Of course, the Grenadiers were the biggest and bravest infantry chaps.
There is an added bonus to the switch to Baccus as they come in strips of 4 infantry and 3 cavalry, rather than 6 & 4 for Irregular, so less painting, hopefully!
Cheers for now

The figures I ordered from Baccus on 25 June arrived on 19 July. What with the heat and other things I’ve only just got round to sorting out and checking the figures. What really struck me, after I got over the realization that I now had 530 more figures to paint, was how clean they were with virtually no flash.
I’ve decided to make inroads into the Austrian Grenadiers, which I now realise I can field not 2 but 3 Divisions of! So, I now have half a Division primed.
They were worth the long wait for them; even if I now have more figures to paint than I had before my big effort in June to get table ready, 474 figures. Doh!
Cheers

Looking forward to seeing them.
I made a start on my Brits from Irregular today. A few new casts but mostly figures bought ten years ago and never painted, until now
