Bristol Big'Uns
Welcome to our forums. The Bristol Big'Uns are a group of people who enjoy fantasy, science fiction and historical wargames. We tend to play mostly table-top wargames but you will sometimes see CCGs, CMGs, RPGs or board games. If this sounds like a hobby you currently enjoy then why not come along. The club is based at Iron Acton, between Bristol and Yate, in the recently refurbished Parish Hall and is held Sunday evenings from 6 pm until 10 pm. There are tables and chairs available plus various sized scenic mats and terrain for table-top wargames. Please bring with you any drinks or snacks that you require.

What a tanker at BIG tomorrow

The two fat lardies are doing a what a tanker day at BIG tomorrow. If you want to do whole day it’s £10, but just dropping in for a looksie won’t cost you anything, plus knowing Richard you might just get dragged in if there’s a free slot in a game.

Re: What a tanker at BIG tomorrow

Brill time at BIG with the lardie gang.

The kill cards are being professionally printed, should be available in @ 6 weeks. It also looks like there will be an extra 2 cards with some juicy effects, not sure what.

Couple of tweaks from the Lardie Gods:

1. German stugs/hetzer/Jagdpanzer IV (not the IV/70A) need an extra two acquires, not one.

2. If you hit your target & you are still acquired & aimed next go you get a +1 to hit (once only as doesn’t stack each time you hit) until you either fail to hit or the target moves.

These tweaks add some neat spice to the game.

Chatting other WaT players the preferred scale is definitely 20mm.

Re: What a tanker at BIG tomorrow

I picked up the rules. Wondering why the Hetzer doesn't have "Low Profile" like the other German TDs ?

Personally i only have three 20mm tanks but loads of 15mm ( and even more 6mm !!)

Re: What a tanker at BIG tomorrow

Hetzer, it gets small which means it +1 to hit ever time. If it had low profile as well would make it a bit to hard.

We are starting a campaign in June (date to be decided), well as the campaign rules aren’t out yet, we are doing the progression system. The theatre is North Afrika 1942, then onto Tunisia, then Italy, then western front to end. The scale is 15mm.

Tweaks, we’ve binned the extra acquires as that was probably an on the day decision. But we are keeping the +1 to hit idea.
