Bristol Big'Uns
Welcome to our forums. The Bristol Big'Uns are a group of people who enjoy fantasy, science fiction and historical wargames. We tend to play mostly table-top wargames but you will sometimes see CCGs, CMGs, RPGs or board games. If this sounds like a hobby you currently enjoy then why not come along. The club is based at Iron Acton, between Bristol and Yate, in the recently refurbished Parish Hall and is held Sunday evenings from 6 pm until 10 pm. There are tables and chairs available plus various sized scenic mats and terrain for table-top wargames. Please bring with you any drinks or snacks that you require.

What a tanker game dates

Hi,

Am free to run What a tanker games on Sunday 6th May &/or Sunday 20th May.

All you need is one British & one German 20mm late War tank plus a printed out dash board, the pdf file for which is on the two fat lardies web page.

So anyone interested let me know the dates & what tanks you have and I’ll work out a scenario.

Oh yes 4 counters as well to show buttoned up, aquired, aimed & loaded on the dashboard.

Re: What a tanker game dates

Cool.

I’ve got a better tanker tool for arcs of fire & incoming rounds.

One thing I lack in 15/20mm scale is terrain, so if you got some hedges, walls buildings please bring them along.

See you 6th

Dreads,

Cool, Simon has spare 20mm tanks & his son James is coming so that’s 4 of us.

Re: What a tanker game dates

As mentioned Nigel, if I end up having some free time on 6th I will join in. Doubtful but there is a little hope!

Re: What a tanker game dates

With the interest in this game was wondering if it might be worth running a monthly campaign like we’ve been doing for XWing.
Is there a campaign set up for this that would work?
Steve.

Re: What a tanker game dates

Steve,
yes there is a campaign system for WaT which is rather good and i think having a WaT monthly campaign is a cracking idea.

Re: What a tanker game dates

Nige, 3D printer is currently hard at work generating a little piece of Normandy 1944.   Struggling with the bocage but printed a 20mm garage, bits of a farm and next “Dead Mans Corner”.   Regret unlikely to have time to paint them but hopefully can at least give them a dusting from a rattlecan so they aren’t bright red :-)

Re: What a tanker game dates

Hi Kevin,

Sounds excellent, will make the game even better with good terrain to use.

Re: What a tanker game dates

Interested - and as mentioned elsewhere can get the rules with a discount for club members

What scale are we going for?

I saw somewhere else 15mm?

I do have a fair few tanks in 1/48th scale!!

Kind regards
Rob

Re: What a tanker game dates

Talking of scale i see someone on the WaT facebook is playing in 1/35th scale.

Tamiya and Revell 1/35 seem to sell for a similar price to Warlord 1/56 resin vehicles but table size might be an issue !

Re: What a tanker game dates

Plenty of kits in 1/48th by Tamiya etc, and there are also lots of aircraft as that's the 'go to' scale for aircraft model makers

I may well give it a go in 1/48th, but need to get the rules first

Kind regards
Rob
